Co-founder of IQdigitec and managing director of IQFoodChain
Marcel Joaquin, co-founder of IQdigitec Inc. passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, his wife of 32 years, Marjorie Soldevilla, announced on her Facebook page.

A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) , Joaquin began his career in audit of food companies, followed by regulatory enforcement, and has led the delivery of farm financial programs as an executive with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
Joaquin co-founded Winnipeg-based IQdigitec in June 2016. The firm is a global provider of application technology and management advisory services. He was a Vice President with Manitoba Harvest. Marcel began his career in audit of food companies, followed by regulatory enforcement, and has led the delivery of farm financial programs as an executive with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
In 2018, he became Managing director of IQFoodChain, a food traceability solution which revolutionizes the food business, incentivising honesty in food labeling, cutting product sourcing costs, and easing regulatory burden.
A graduate of the University of Manitoba where he obtained his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours), Management and Information Systems and Accounting, he taught at his Alma Mater as an adjunct professor for 18 years and was a university instructor in Business and Financial Management at the University of Winnipeg up and until his death.
With his wife Marjorie, he was active in the Catholic Church’s social action initiative and were parish representatives at the St. Vital Parish for Development and Peace-Caritas Canada.

He was predeceased by his father Marcelino (Mark) Joaquin in November 22, 2015.
