Editor’s note: Please send us photos and bios of graduates – from elementary to college. Send awards info  even if they haven’t graduated yet. We want to honour and encourage our youth to pursue higher learning and celebrate their scholastic achievements. Salamat!

Congratulations to our new crop of graduates

We feature some of this year’s graduates as they become available to us.

An accountant at Crowe MacKay LLP in Whitehorse,The Yukon, Basil graduated from the Sauder School of Business at UBC before enrolling in the chartered accountant’s course (CPA). He finished his high school at the St. Thomas Moore Collegiate in New Westminster and had worked for Aero Mag 2000 where he was the de-icing lead. He is the youngest of two sons of Rosita and Priscilo Alcordo of Vancouver.

A total of 713 graduates took part in the convocation ceremonies last May 27, 2017 at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

To qualify as a CPA, students must complete rigorous course work, pass the CFE, and fulfill relevant practical experience requirements.

Simon Fraser University

Faye  is Social Media Director for Club Row and lululemonFacebook Curator and Educator for lululemon.
She finished her high school at Burnaby Central Secondary School.

At Club Row she manages digital strategy including visual theme, variety of posts, and post calendar and coordinates with other members including graphic designer and photographer.
At lulemon, she educates guests on the features, functions and intentions of the products as well as attending to and resolving guest conflicts.

Zenia Marshall, Grade 12 (Provided)

Vancouver Technical Secondary.

 The daughter of Luisa and Steve Marshall, Zenia has recently been cast in the on-going TV series ‘Date my Dad’ whose second episode aired this week. According to her mom in a Facebook post, Zenia worked so hard  and ” faced a lot of challenges and battled the most hectic time of her young life between filming and school for almost 4 months. She kept her head up high and focused on the tasks, homework, tests, projects, etc… kept a straight A record for a long time with very little sleep.” She has been a consistent honour roll medalist for five years.
