Family plays important role in author’s life

Vancouver-born author Marie Claire Lim Moore returns to her birthplace to launch her second book – ‘Don’t Forget the Parsley’ this Wednesday,July 19 at Chapters Metrotown.

The book  builds on her first memoir, Don’t Forget the Soap, offering more entertaining stories about her family in this follow up.

This  is a collection of anecdotes from different points in Moore’s  life: stories from her second-generation immigrant childhood in Vancouver and New York City mix with recent expat experiences in Singapore and Hong Kong where she balances multiple roles as wife and mother, corporate executive and author.

Parents Lenore Lim and Jose ‘Didi’ Lim lives in Vancouver but continues to have a big influence on her whether “it comes to managing family and career, meeting heads of state and world leaders or simply making new friends. “

Now based in Singapore where she is the Regional Director for Global Client Banking for Citi, the mother of three has degrees from Yale and FordhamUniversity.

After fifteen years of work in consumer banking and payment products, Marie Claire Lim Moore now dedicates her career to the advancement of women in Hong Kong as Director of Development at The Women’s Foundation, a dynamic philanthropic institution dedicated to the advancement of women in Hong Kong.

Aside from Filipino, she speaks Portuguese and Spanish.

Moore  has been ranked as one of the 100 Most Influential Filipino Women in the World for her contributions to female mentorship and leadership in her respective field.She has been featured by CNN, USA Today, Smart Parenting, People Asia, Time Out Hong Kong, and USA Today.

In 2016, she delivered a talk at TedX WanChai entitled “Why Asia Needs More Tiger Women.” She has also been a speaker at events hosted by UBS, Standard Chartered Bank, The Financial Women’s Association of Singapore, and MasterCard Asia.

Moore is featured in Claudia Chan’s Remarkable Women Series, along with other role models Arianna Hugginton, Zainab Salbi and Tory Burch.
