Vancouver Pinoys join rallies worldwide protesting Marcos burial

Bury Marcos in Ilocos!

By Ted Alcuitas

Vancouver, B.C. – Rain did not stop  protesters  from standing before the Philippine Consulate offices in Vancouver today to be in solidarity with the Filipino people to denounce the burial  of the  the dictator Marcos’ body at the Heroes Cemetery.

Led by Pinoy Global Diaspora Canada, the Vancouver rally is part of  worldwide events in 15 other centres and throughout the Philippines.

Angered by President Rodrigo Duterte’s support for the burial which they believe is in connivance with the Marcos family, massive protests erupted in the country and has spread like wildfire.

There is a growing sentiment that the burial is a prelude to the restoration to power of the Marcoses. Bongbong Marcos, an ally of Duterte,  lost his vice-presidential bid to Leni Robredo and is contesting the results.
