Breaking: Two Filipinos are among 20,000 dead in Turkey, Syria earthquake

20,000 confirmed dead and help is needed urgently

A Filipina survivor of the recent earthquake in Turkey and Syria will recount her ordeal with The Filipino Edition, RedFM this Sunday, February 12.

The mother of two is among 248 Filipinos registered with the Philippine Embassy, according to host Joseph Lopez of The Filipino Edition. Two are confirmed dead.

The Chair and Vice-Chair of the Filipino AKO-Overseas Filipino Workers, an NGO in Turkey, who are coordinating support, and monitoring rescue operations for the affected Filipinos and their families will also talk to Lopez who warns that some conversations will be graphic.

Donations can be sent to the Canadian Red Cross (https://donate.redcross.ca/page/121799/donate/1?locale=en-CA) or to Development & Peace -Caritas Canada (https://www.devp.org/en/). The federal government will match donations until next week.
