Breaking:Pacquiao is new WBO welterweight champ, Donaire loses bantamweight belt

Top Rank chief executive Bob Arum was critical of two boxing judges for how they scored the championship fights of Manny Pacquiao and Nonito Donaire Jr. at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on Saturday.

Donaire surrendered his WBO super bantamweight belt to Jessie Magdaleno after he was beaten 112-116, 112-116, and 110-118.Pacquiao, meanwhile, became the new WBO welterweight champion after beating Jessie Vargas, 114-113, 118-109, and 118-109.

Magdaleno, who dominated Donaire through most of the rounds, won via unanimous decision—with 116-112, 116-112 and 118-110 from the judges.

The American remains undefeated, now earning 24 wins.

Donaire, on the other hand, now has 4 losses while retaining his 37 wins.

The Donaire-Magdaleno bout is one of the undercard matches of the Manny Pacquiao-Jessie Vargas clash for the WBO Welterweight championship at the Thomas and Mack Center.
