On the eve of the nomination meeting tomorrow, August 3, 2021, lawyer Paul Jonathan Saguil has withdrawn from the race to represent the Liberal Party in Brampton Centre.

According to Tony San Juan of Toronto, Saguil sent him his withdrawal notice. He (Saguil) did not respond to our request for confirmation at posting time.

His campaign website nor his Facebook page does not show any news of his withdrawal.

This is the second attempt to join politics by Saguil, a corporate lawyer who works for Toronto Dominion Bank in its anti-money laundering department. In 2020, he sought the nomination for Toronto Centre but the party decided to acclaim Marci Ien who won the riding formerly represented by Finance Minister Bill Morneau.
