After advancing to the 6th episode of Back to Win, featuring past contestants for a chance at the $100,000 prize, Senaris failed the Seafood challenge.

“I think I used about four or five towels in that episode alone,” he told CTV, noting that the competition is so tough that they raised the bar so high. He was the runner-up in Season 3 and was hoping to bring home the title.

Unfortunately for the 47-year old professional chef, he was paired with Thea Vanherwaarden who is allergic to seafood. This made it  particularly difficult for Senaris who had to handle all the prep.

Communication between the two broke done and their dish was missing two or three ingredients.

While all the judges liked their food, the pair was eliminated and was put head-to-head for a final showdown with steak as the ingredient.

The 40-year-old father of two who works for the City of Winnipeg as a Building Plan examiner, started cooking early as a child watching his mother in the kitchen.

He started cooking seriously after his mother died of cancer in 2008, replicating her dishes and putting a new spin on it.

“I came back to the MASTERCHEF CANADA Kitchen to show everyone how much I have improved over the years, ” he told CTV News in an interview.

He admits that the hardest part is being able” to be creative on the fly in a matter of 60 minutes. To be original is key.”

He said he would have done nothing different:  “NOTHING. I represented myself, my city, Filipino culture, and Filipino food. I wouldn’t change a damn thing.”
