Pink Caravan rolls in eight cities in Canada
By Charmaine Janis Rodriguez
As administration allies scrambled for an 11th-hour substitution last Friday, presidential candidate Leni Robredo laughed and danced off the controversy as she continued her public appearances with running mate, Kiko Pangilinan, all over the country
The Philippine media was quick to seek her reaction when President Duterte’s daughter Sara Duterte-Carpio filed her certificate of candidacy for Vice President after claiming repeatedly that she will not seek a national post and months of speculations that she will succeed her father. This, as Duterte’s closest ally, Sen. Bong Go, filed his COC for president with the president himself as his running mate, but chose to wait to until Monday, November 15, to file his COC. Sara chose to be the running mate of Bong-Bong Marcos, the former Philippine dictator’s son.
Vice President Robredo, who was in Cebu when the events unfolded, tweeted that she will choose to “just chill.”
“Daming nangyayari. Pero gaya ni Mareng Taylor: I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling ’22. Chill lang tayo,” said Robredo, referring to Taylor Swift’s famous song.
She also posted a video of her dancing with her supporters and the lyrics of the song had a specific message.
‘Tonight’s the night when we forget about the deadlines / It’s time, oh-oh / I don’t know about you / But I’m feeling 22 / Everything will be alright if / You keep me next to you,” went the song as Robredo danced.
Earlier, Robredo said the changes in the lineups by the November 15 will be good for her group since it will make the political lines clearer. She continues to present her platforms and programs if elected as the next president.
