The Winnipeg showing is sponsored by ANAK & Migrante. Here is their blurb:
ANAK & Migrante MB have the pleasure of hosting theatre artist/director and Vanier scholar Dennis Gupa, & his artist collaborators from the Philippines on Nov. 2nd & 3rd Prairie Theatre Exchange. Together they will explore if Philippine indigenous knowledge & practices from our ancestors & our elders can help society mitigate & adapt to the effects of climate change. The performance will reflect on the histories of colonial encounters & the physical & social impact of natural disasters. It will be based on extensive fieldwork Dennis has done immersing in Visayan sea coastal villages & learning from local elders.
The show on Nov. 3rd is open to everyone & will be followed by a panel discussion & reception. Tickets are $35, 2 for $60, or $25 for students & available at anak.eventbrite.ca
