TODAY marks exactly 2 YEARS since I released “X marks the Swirl”! Thank you for being here to celebrate with me! This film is created to my track Submerged. A song that I have been told has given people the space to cry and grieve. This song has become my favourite song on the album years later and I am so grateful Sammay made a film to it. This film was created on Unceded Ramaytush Ohlone Territory. It features my beautiful kapwatid SAMMAY @sammaybaby & it was filmed by her mama by the ocean! 🌊 This album is the last song on my album and closes with the sound of water, where it started. . . Please feel free to light a candle to receive that abundance and send prayers for yourself and the community, send intentions out and in like the waves and cry if you want too cause yes: new moon in pisces! . . It’s funny cos it’s only now that I feel ready to look back and full take in and celebrate the work that went into this album! I am so proud of how far I have come since that album dropped, so much has happened since then, i met so many amazing people along the way, learned so much. Whoah. If it weren’t for the heart and resistance of my community that holds me up everyday, this album would not be what it is. Gratitude. . .
Lyrics:
I sink into it
Submerged my cloudy head
I’m crying underwater now
I could sleep away the hours
Hibernate until these flowers give me powers
I think I lost something
It’s all going too fast for me
I keep swimming in our memories
Can someone please just hold me?
I miss holding your hands,
But I grew wings for my motherland,
I am flying underwater now
We used to listen to the rain fallin’
Public pools and the sun setting
“You’re gonna forget all of this,” you said.
It’s all going too fast for me
I keep swimming in our memories
Can someone please just hold me?
